Intro

At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Machinist to work with a leading manufacturer of industrial valves in Amory. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual machining equipment to produce precision components that meet strict engineering drawings and quality standards.


Shift Patterns

• 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday


• Occasional overtime on Fridays


• Temp-to-hire position with a goal of conversion to full-time at 90 days based on performance, attendance, and attitude

Pay Rates

• 25.00 USD hourly

Must-have Requirements for Machinist

• Proven experience operating CNC and/or manual machining equipment


• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings


• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges


• Ability to independently set up machines, including tools and fixtures


• Knowledge of machining parameters including speeds, feeds, and depth of cut

Desirable Requirements for Machinist

• Experience machining parts from castings or reworking existing components


• Ability to identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions


• Experience working in both short-run and high-volume production environments


• Familiarity with controlled documentation systems and strict work instructions


• Strong commitment to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment


• Ability to maintain a clean, organized work area and communicate effectively with team members regarding quality or safety concerns

Role for Machinist

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and manual equipment to produce precision parts


• Perform in-process and final inspections to verify finished parts meet dimensional tolerances


• Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, or out-of-tolerance conditions to ensure quality


• Follow standardized work instructions and maintain a safe, organized manufacturing environment
